E.N. Gallery is thrilled to unveil a distinctive exhibition showcasing the exceptional talent of Korean ceramics artist, Sookkyung Ji. Titled 'Songs of Clay, Fire, and Wind,' this solo exhibition presents a captivating collection of ceramics inspired by nature.

 

One of the defining characteristics of Sookkyung Ji's work lies in her unique firing technique, setting her apart as one of the few artists in Korea who opts for wood fire over electricity. The use of traditional kilns introduces a level of variability to the firing process. Embraced by the artist, this element of unpredictability adds a unique, organic quality to each piece. Sookkyung Ji's decision to use wood fire in her ceramics not only speaks to her technical skill, but also aligns her work with a long history of Korean ceramic artistry, connecting her contemporary creations to the enduring traditions of the past.
